Not too bad week

Few things had been done this week.

When we spoke to the frame guy on Tuesday morning, he said the frames should be finished in 3 days. We thought... "yeah right"... but hey, he's right!

Windows and sliding doors had been delivered

The guys started to work on the frame for upstairs

Ground floor windows and sliding doors installed

Half-way there..

Nearly there

There!

Scaffoldings up too

The roof truss had been delivered, should be starting on Monday.
Also, will be meeting SS for the first time on Thursday to walk through the place.

Wow, you must have spent a fair bit of time at the site to get those progressive photos. How do the tradies feel about having the owner watching and photographing their every move?
Frame really does take no time to put up, and now gives you your first opportunity to walk through your house and get a feel.
Tip..this is a good time to go over your build (after boys have knocked off) with plans, tape measure and sqaure...!!
If you have kids, they are going to love the aluminium ladder to upstairs. Great novalty at first, but it WILL wear off.
Great progress guys.

Great progress and even better pics!

Good tip from Degaul about walking through and checking a few things, especially with a tape measure and square (definitely when the boys have gone).

If you haven't already asked your SS about putting in some noggings (for towel rails, toilet roll holders etc), do it very soon and check later to make sure they have been done properly. We had to pay $150 for ours because the Windsor 47 has 5 toilets and 4 ensuites and took a bit of time/labour to do. But at least they were all done properly and were exactly where we wanted them.

Cheers

Thanks for the tips guys!
Will definitely drop by to measure and put in the noggins.

DeGaul, we're currently staying 5min from the site. So on weekdays, will drop by after morning school run as well as before the afternoon run. The tradies and cool about the photos, they even offer to pose for the pics :)

Liana, other than for towel rails and roll holders, what other places did you add noggin for?

Hi H,

We only concentrated on toilet roll, towel rails and hand-towel rails/hooks. We were specific as to where we wanted them, particularly with the side-by-side double-hang towel rails in the master ensuite.

Cheers

Thanks Liana!
We initially thought of putting noggins for plasma and a floating table in the games room. But after reading the comments from HomeOne forum, might use the studs instead.
