Here comes the BILL... and the frame

We've received the bill for stage 1 from PD today. Not as efficient as we thought :)

Had a quick chat with SS this morning. This is our first chat and he sounds like a nice chap. Was asking him is it possible to add some noggins and few other things, and he's alright with that.

Anyway, there has been a good progress in the building. The guys arrived early and started on building of the frames. By the end of first day of framing, the ground floor is almost completed, except for the powder room walls and the walls between stairs and kitchen/pantry.

Happened to notice the pipes in kitchen are slanted, and there is another one behind, probably for the gas. Not sure is this ok... need to have a chat with SS when meeting him on site.

Hi "H" (can't type hYSteRIcAL this early in the morning).

Great progress and great pics! One of those photos is worthy of the 2009 Tradie Calendar. Hubba hubba!

You'll find that the framers will belt out that frame quicker than you can say "Anyone for a can of Red Bull?" They like to get the roof on ASAP because that enables most of the other trades to start work.

Those pipes that look crooked: Ours looked like that too. They trim them right down later, so I wouldn't worry. In fact, have your camera handy when the ruthless bobcat arrives to do a site clean-up ... a couple of those pipes might get a "trimming" before their time. Nasty Cat!

It's what's under the slab that matters. Worth running it past your SS just for piece of mind, though.

Keep those great pics coming. Can you get some close-ups of those biceps next time, please :]

Cheers
Liana

Yep the Framers are the quickest trade in the whole process. Hope you are enjoying seeing it go up.

Tsk, tsk, tsk to PD for being sooooo late with your invoice hehehe

H. I can assure you the bill would have been posted out while the concrete was still wet. Must have got delayed in the mail..!

On the subject if things that happen when the concrete is still wet, great to to see that frame going up. You'll love walking between the rooms and forming some ideas around living in the house.

Hi all,

Liana, I'm sure you're right about trimming of the pipes. Anyway, we'll be engaging Kevin to the inspection, so I'm sure such an obvious issue will be noted if it is a problem. Also, will get more hunks in the pics just for you ;)

House-To-Be, Newbies and DeGaul,
Yes we're so excited with the frames, have brought the kids to the site and show them the all the different areas of ground floor, and they don't have to imagine anymore!
